You Plant Me

Take me into the yard and dig me a spot. Pull the ground all around me and pack in my plot. You can stand proud on top of my mound; to know that it's you who's dragging me down.

You get off on putting me in my coffin.

Oh there’s nothing worse than living under the Earth. In my box in the dirt, my body's feeding the worms.

Just let me nap while I wait for the rapture.

And as I lay germinating and waiting for the pass of the flood, someday the sun will come and I’ll emerge from the mud. Dig in the heel of my roots. Sprouting up through my shoots. Then when you fall in the pollen, leave my heart in the garden.

Kiss my juiciest fruit.
